CardHound Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

CardHound ("the app") is built to know as little about you as possible.

What we collect

Nothing tied to your identity. CardHound has no accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics trackers. We don't know who you are.

Your card photos

When you scan a card, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our analysis service, which uses Anthropic's Claude AI to identify the card and estimate its condition and value. Photos are processed to produce your result and are not used to train AI models (per Anthropic's API data policy). Your saved collection — photos and card details — is stored only on your device.

Purchases

The CardHound Pro subscription is billed through your Apple App Store account. Card purchases from the CardHound Shop are processed by Stripe; we receive only the information needed to ship your order (name, shipping address) and never see your payment details.

Camera and photo library access

The app asks for camera access to scan cards and photo library access if you choose to analyze an existing photo. Images are used only for card analysis, only when you initiate a scan.

Data deletion

Your collection lives on your device. Deleting the app deletes your data.

Children

CardHound does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new date.
